Plaster of
Paris,
or simply plaster, is based on calcium sulfate hemihydrate and is
typically mixed with various curing agents.
Plaster is used as a building material similar to
mortar or
cement. Plaster
starts as a dry powder that is mixed with water to form a paste, which then
hardens.
"Blueboard" (seen in the picture at left), is specially designed as a base for
decorative finishes. |
